Album Review: Qveen Herby 'A Woman'

To date, Qveen Herby completed her forty five-track EP series that expanded over three years since 2017 beginning with EP1 and ending with EP9, and now has embraced us with her highly-anticipated 12-track debut album, A Woman.

After finishing her forty five-track EP phase that ran for three years beginning in 2017 with EP 1 and ending with EP 9 in 2020, Qveen Herby started working on her first full studio album project around October of 2020.

Opening the album with ‘Balenciaga Dreams’ is a powerful track with moody tones and excellent lyrics that intrigue the first listener with high expectations on what’s to come.

‘Faster’ has a new side to her vocals that pull the listener in more with another bop.

The title-track ‘A Woman’ is an empowering and sensual track with an epic production.

‘Naughty Girl’ is a banger and liberating track about sexual power.

‘Juice’ is the album’s lead single and a fresh flavour to the album with excellent vocals and instrumentation.

‘Black Sheep’ is an embraceful track with excellent string arrangement and instrumentation that truly bring the song to life alongside her beautiful vocals.

‘Good Morning’ serves as a meditation manifestation track as she talks the listener through the spiritual track.

‘Mother Teresa’ is a groovy, inspiring track with smooth vocals that accompany the production brilliantly.

‘Gucci Vision’ is a boppy track with groovy undertones that mix well with her vocals.

‘Masterpiece’ sees her take her music to another level with passion seeing her growth and knowing her worth.

‘Celine Dion’ goes from talking about pleasing people to realising her expensive taste and to never asking a queen to stand down over a flavourish production.

Closing out the album with ‘Underdog’ is an empowering track showing when she used to doubt herself until she rose to know she’s worth it and trust the timing.

Qveen Herby may be 35 years old, but she’s savouring the journey that showcases enlightenment, self-awareness, and positive vibrations over, A Woman.

There are many elements of hip-hop and R&B vibes that are present throughout the 12-tracks as she raps and sings on each song showing her effortless talents. With catchy hooks to killer rap pieces, the authentic songwriting is impressive. The awe-inspiring records are memorable outshining her previous work on this debut album that is fresh and well-crafted.

Qveen Herby’s vocals are versatile on this album with glamour that showcases her ever evolving. This is another terrific addition to her music catalog for the listener to soak up her entire discography. A Woman, is an outstanding debut album release with excellent provocative and masterful lyricism, vocals, and production.

It’s a fantastic listen from the first note to the closing sound that makes each track memorable with Qveen Herby’s polished vocals that will leave goosebumps. The aesthetics throughout the album with the flowful lyricism makes this an unbelievably creative record. It’s an immaculate anthemic creation saturated in pure talent.

All tracks were written by Qveen Herby and noted co-writers, and produced by Pompano Puff and Nick Noonan on ‘Juice’ and ‘Gucci Vision’.
